Basic Appraisal Principles
Basic Appraisal Principles, the first in a series of licensing courses, is intended to establish the foundations of both appraising and the appraisal profession as a whole. This 30-hour course begins with an explanation of the evolution of the appraisal profession and outlines its current organizational framework. In this course students learn the essentials of real estate and appraisal, including real property concepts and characteristics, legal descriptions, forms of ownership, market value, economic principles, value influences, market analysis, ethics in appraising and more. Learning is reinforced using discussion, examples, case studies, glossary reviews, and chapter review quizzes of the basic appraisal principles through which a strong foundation of appraisal knowledge is formed.
