Wisconsin to Minnesota Real Estate License Course
If you are not a resident of Minnesota and you hold a Wisconsin salesperson or broker license, there's now a convenient way to obtain your Minnesota license. This two-day course is a shortcut for Wisconsin resident licensees who want to obtain a Minnesota license of the same level. Prepared, scheduled and presented to meet the needs of busy Wisconsin real estate professionals, Wisconsin to Minnesota Reciprocity Course will teach you exactly how to comply with Minnesota laws. It will also prepare you for success on test day. The course covers all of the topics required by the Minnesota Department of Commerce and included in the State Laws exam. Your course materials are specially designed to help you in class- and to help you at home. There are sample test-type questions, review exams and glossary reviews which will be assigned for home study. You'll want to schedule study time to spend reviewing the Minnesota concepts covered in class by your instructors.

A current Wisconsin real estate salesperson or broker who does not reside in Minnesota may obtain a Minnesota license of the same level by taking four steps: 1. Complete the Wisconsin to Minnesota Real Estate License Course 2. Within 5 years of completing the course, pass the "State-Specific" portion of the Minnesota salesperson or broker exam 3. Within 1 year of passing the exam, salespersons must file an application signed by a licensed Minnesota broker. Brokers must file an application including trust account certification 4. Pay the required fees to the Minnesota Department of Commerce
The Minnesota Licensing Exam is administered by Pearson VUE at 1-877-329-8763. The cost to take the exam is $51. The exam is multiple-choice, and is divided into two separate portions. The 85-question "National" portion is automatically waived for anyone currently and actively licensed in Wisconsin. You will only register for and take the 45-question "State-Specific" portion. This portion covers information unique to Minnesota, primarily state laws and regulations. When you've completed the class and passed the exam, it's time to fill out your license application. If you are applying for a salesperson's license, the application must include your Certificate of Completion from the Wisconsin to Minnesota Real Estate Reciprocity Course and be signed by a licensed Minnesota broker. If you are applying for a broker's license, the application must include your Certificate of Completion from the Wisconsin to Minnesota Real Estate Reciprocity Course and you will need to have a signed trust account certification on your license application. In addition, you will need to provide an original certification of licensure from the Wisconsin Department of Regulation and Licensing no more than 90 days old.
